一、课程性质与设置目标要求

在课程思政建设的大背景下,我国大学英语教学迎来了又一次重大改革。大学英语这门公共基础课程必须融合思政教育,把培养学生的英语综合应用能力和落实立德树人根本任务结合起来,将价值塑造、知识传授和能力培养这三者融为一体。

通过理论教学和实践活动,达到以下课程目标:

 

课程目标1:培养学生英语综合应用能力,即具有较强的阅读能力和良好的

听、说、写、译能力,使他们在今后的工作和社会交往中能使用英语

有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流

 

课程目标2:提高学生学习能力,特别是自主学习能力

课程目标3:提高学生综合文化素养   

课程目标4:引导学生坚定崇高的理想信念,将社会主义核心价值观自然地融入到大学生的世界观、人生观和价值观塑造过程中,最终实现大学生自身的全面发展,使大学生成长为具有家国情怀、思辨能力、国际视野、担当民族复兴大任的时代新人

学习本课程的要求是:(1)树立正确的世界观人生观价值观2)提高学生的跨文化交际能力3)深刻理解中华民族优秀传统文化4)使学生向主动学习、自主学习、个性化学习的方向发展5)扎根中国大地构建家国情怀

选用教材:新视野大学英语1》.总主编:郑树棠外语教学与研究出版社,2015年9月第4版。

五、课程考核与评价

考核是评价高等教育教学质量和教学效果的重要方式。传统“一卷定成败”的终结式考核方式,存在着种种弊端,不符合应用型人才培养目标的要求,也不利于提升学生创新能力和综合素质。教育部《关于全面提高高等教育质量的若干意见》指出改革考试方法,注重学习过程考查和学生能力评价。”教育部还发布了《大学英语课程教学要求》,明确规定了大学英语的基本教学目标和相应的评价体系。大学英语的过程性考核模式,能够促进学生主动学习,提高课堂教与学的有效性,实现大学英语的学以致用,提升学生的知识应用能力和综合素质,受到学生的欢迎和认同。

过程性考核模式强调对学生学习大学英语过程中的学习状态和阶段性学习成果的考核。它突出了学生在学习过程中的能力培养及阶段性学习成果,同时关注学生的智力因素和非智力因素,体现出考核内容全面性,考核方式灵活性,考核范围科学性,考核知识适用性,教学效果能及时得到反馈。

该课程为考试课程,考试方式为闭卷,题型为客观题,分别为单项选择、判断正误、完型填空和阅读理解。该课程采用过程性考核评价与终结性性考核评价相结合的评价方法,学期总评成绩使用百分制评定,由两部分构成:平时成绩,占比50%;期末考试成绩,占比50%

平时成绩至少包含6项考核项目,总占比50%;平时成绩的考核项目包括课程思政实践(占5%)、听力、单词听写、汉译英、作文、出勤,如下表所示。
