一、课程性质与设置目标要求

《新视野大学英语3》是英语学科下的核心课程内容较多,难度较大,是学生完成本科学业和今后继续深造的重要基础。其基本内容包括:遵循通用英语阶段语言学习规律,采取有效教学方法,全面提升学生的英语实际应用能力。通过学习材料和活动设计培养学生的人文素养与综合素质,使学生在认识世界、了解社会、发现自我的过程中,树立正确的价值观、增进文化理解能力,提高跨文化交际能力,从而实现工具性和人文性的有机统一。

通过理论教学和实践活动,达到以下课程目标:

课程目标1:培养学生听、说、读、写、译的语言技能;

课程目标2:增加知识、拓展视野、提高能力、提升文化素养;

课程目标3:明辨西方价值观和西方文化;   

课程目标4:帮助回归认同本土优秀文化

课程目标5:培养学生的学习能力和学习策略。

学习本课程的要求是:(1)树立正确的世界观人生观价值观2)提高学生的跨文化交际能力3)深刻理解中华民族优秀传统文化4)使学生向主动学习、自主学习、个性化学习的方向发展5)扎根中国大地构建家国情怀

选用教材:新视野大学英语3》.总主编:郑树棠外语教学与研究出版社,2015年9月第4版。

五、课程考核与评价

考核是评价高等教育教学质量和教学效果的重要方式。传统“一卷定成败”的终结式考核方式,存在着种种弊端,不符合应用型人才培养目标的要求,也不利于提升学生创新能力和综合素质。教育部《关于全面提高高等教育质量的若干意见》指出改革考试方法,注重学习过程考查和学生能力评价。”教育部还发布了《大学英语课程教学要求》,明确规定了大学英语的基本教学目标和相应的评价体系。大学英语的过程性考核模式,能够促进学生主动学习,提高课堂教与学的有效性,实现大学英语的学以致用,提升学生的知识应用能力和综合素质,受到学生的欢迎和认同。

过程性考核模式强调对学生学习大学英语过程中的学习状态和阶段性学习成果的考核。它突出了学生在学习过程中的能力培养及阶段性学习成果,同时关注学生的智力因素和非智力因素,体现出考核内容全面性,考核方式灵活性,考核范围科学性,考核知识适用性,教学效果能及时得到反馈。

教师在平时的教学过程中开展小组模拟教学、听力测试、口语表达、翻译和写作测试。平时过程性考核成绩占总成绩的50%。

期终考核:题型为客观题,分别为判断正误、单项选择、阅读理解与完型填空。期终成绩占总成绩的50%。
